Sunday August 2011 - The day after photographing the brumbies I did a photo shoot of my next commission. Australian Stock Horse stallion "Brown Vintage" who is a successful campdrafter on the circuit and a popular sire in our area.
Saturday August 2011
On one of our trips we were lucky to finally see a small herd of about 10 brumbies and managed to get quite close to them to snap some pictures before they nervously trotted off, disappearing quietly into the thick scrub. Mostly blacks and bays with a few youngsters in the herd, and a big bay brumby stallion, this was a rare sight for a horse lover such as me!
This young black brumby looks warily on as I take a few quick photos before she joins her mother to trot off with the rest of the herd. The surrounding trees displaying varied colours and shapes were a beautiful backdrop for these wild horses. What an inspiration!
August 2011 - 4 new lambs have arrived on our farm and Dad doesn't seem to mind when his babies clamber all over him. They look like they are having fun! With their unusual colours they will make an interesting combination for a colourful painting.
